The Pearl Harbor is a harbor which is located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Its name originated from the pearl oysters which were profusely harvested in the area. Pearl Harbor is the largest natural harbor in Hawaii which is found in the west side of Honolulu. Much of the boundaries of Pearl Harbor and the lands surrounding it are a deep-water naval base of the United States Navy. Pearl Harbor is also the headquarters of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. In the United States, Pearl Harbor is the only naval base to be designated a historical landmark of the nation. Pearl Harbor is also of great historical importance not only to the United States of America but also the whole world. The bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese Empire during World War II was a historic moment to all mankind. During the aerial attack on Pearl Harbor, 2390 people died and hundreds were wounded.

Because Pearl Harbor is of historical significance, it has many historical sites which are main attractions of the place. The historical sites of Pearl Harbor include the USS Arizona Memorial which plays a vital role in providing facts about what happened during the historical event as well as offers a solemn place to pay respects and gratitude to the brave and fearless soldiers that fell in Pearl Harbor. A similar historical site at Pearl Harbor is the Battleship Missouri Memorial which is a 60,000-ton Battleship that is comparable to the length of three football fields and twenty stories in height.

Inside the ship, you can view the various documents that ended the war as well as a towering 16-inch gun that could fire a 2,700 pound shell 23 miles distance which was used during the war of Pearl Harbor. The USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park is one of the 288 U.S. submarines that carried out the war in the Pacific during World War II which is a favorite tourist destination in Pearl Harbor, not only for its historical value but also for honoring of the lost submariners during the Pearl Harbor attack. The USS Bowfin is also called the Pearl Harbor Avenger.

Another site of great historical importance is the Pacific Aviation Museum which is an immerse aviation museum where you can see planes like the authentic Japanese Zero and a B-25B which is similar to the one used in the famous "Doolittle Raid" on Japan in 1942. Many more historical sites are offered to tourists at Pearl Harbor.
